The rain-repellent or hydrophobic treatment is a liquid solution made from acrylic resins and transparent polymers applied directly onto the windscreen using a spray. By creating an invisible layer on the glass it makes water droplets slide off easily when driving above 80 km/h greatly improving visibility and reducing the need to use wipers.

The visual effect is similar to seeing drops of mercury quickly sliding across the windscreen. This treatment lasts for approximately 1 year or 15,000 kilometres and at Ralarsa we apply it in just 5 minutes.

In addition to repelling rain it also reduces the adhesion of insects dust and dirt and makes it harder for ice to form on cold days helping to maintain optimal visibility at all times. Although designed primarily for windscreens it can also be applied to other glass surfaces of the car
